Farm & Other Animal Food

Of course, we have to remember to give treats to the horses!  Not to mention other farm-dwellers, like rabbits, chickens, cows, and the occasional llama.  In this section, you'll mostly find treats for working animals.  We also threw in any scrumptious dish that we couldn't categorize anywhere else.  Truly a mixed-bag of recipes.

Pumpkin Surprise

1 small pumpkin
grain
4 crushed peppermints
carrots
apples and strawberries (or other fruits)

•    Cut top off of the pumpkin and remove all insides. Be sure to get all the seeds.
•    Fill it with grain, crushed peppermints, carrots, apples, strawberries or other fruits.
•    Replace top and serve to your horse.

Cheerios and Peanut Butter Bites

Your pot bellied pig will love this treat!

1 cup Cheerios
2 tablespoons peanut butter

•    Mix cheerios and peanut butter together and roll to form a ball. Add more peanut butter or cheerios as necessary to create a delicious treat for your potbellied pig.

Fruit Salad Surprise

2 cups horse feed
1 banana, chopped
1 apple, diced
6 strawberries, sliced
4 baby carrots, sliced
1 cup molasses
4 peppermint candies, crushed

•    Mix all ingredients together in a feeding bucket and serve.

Note: Horse treats should not be fed to your horses all the time. They are for special occasions! If you give treats to your horse too much, they will become spoiled and always want treats.
